From the challenges of navigating a pandemic to the ever-changing production issues, we have never shied away from a challenge.
In fact, it’s been these moments of adversity that have helped us grow and evolve as a company!
From product innovation to branding, we’ve worked hard to always stay true to our mission: To help the largest number of people live happier, healthier lives by providing safe and effective treatments for pain management.
And due to another one of those challenges, we recently decided it was time to revisit our brand and our company name to better reflect who we are today as a company and what we stand for.
So, read along as we take you on a little journey and learn about how Reviiv has evolved into Kineon!
From the Knee+ to the Move+
But first, let’s take it back a step…
When we first launched our Indigogo campaign back in 2021, our goal was to build an easy-to-use device to help people manage their knee-related pain at home.
With founders Tom and Forrest both having experienced knee pain in their own lives, it was their mission to find a solution to ease their suffering without the use of painkillers or invasive surgery…
And it was clear that there was a huge unmet need for this type of technology in the pain relief market – as our Indigogo campaign was fully-funded within the first 24 hours, and has successfully raised over $700,000 to date!
But soon after launching, we realized we needed to make some changes in order to effectively pursue our mission of helping as many people as possible live pain-free.
In order to remain focused on this all-important goal, we decided to change the product name from the Knee+ to the Move+ as a way to better align our product with our vision for the company moving forward.
After listening to our community, we realized that our original name was too limiting and didn’t accurately describe what we were trying to achieve as a brand.
So we made the decision to change our name to Move+ – a name that better reflects our vision and serves as a symbol of what we are trying to achieve as a company – providing the most effective at-home treatment for pain on the market!
Trademark Issues
But the name changes didn’t end there…
As you may have heard, we have run into a bit of a challenge with the trademark for our brand name “Reviiv” after our Indiegogo campaign became very popular.
In this case, another business in the same field sees a competitor that makes them nervous – so they look for any and every reason to hinder their growth.
Since we’ve been able to innovate in a stagnant industry, those who were happy with the status quo don’t like the fact that we’re making waves.
Because of this trademark issue, our Indigogo campaign was put on hold temporarily until we were able to resolve it.
While we were extremely disappointed to have encountered this issue, we immediately began to brainstorm potential alternative brand names that would work for us moving forward…
Ultimately, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it forced us to rethink our branding strategy and enabled us to come up with a new name that more accurately reflects who we are, what we stand for, and how we help our community.
The Inspiration Behind Kineon
We chose our new name Kineon because it reflects our company vision perfectly and is a much better fit for our long-term goals.
Our name “Reviiv” wasn’t very descriptive of what we were trying to achieve as a company – it didn’t tell anyone exactly what we did or what our ultimate goal was.
Kineon on the other hand comes from the Greek word “Kineo” which means “to move.” This describes our purpose perfectly as our goal is to help people move more easily and live pain-free lives!
When you pair that with the product name of “Move+” it’s easy to see how this name perfectly represents who we are and what we are trying to achieve together!
So as you can see, in the face of adversities and setbacks – we have been able to turn this into an opportunity to re-imagine our company and establish a brand that speaks to our core values and the direction we want to take in the future!
A brand that is laser-focused on helping our community move pain-free. Because when you can move freely, without pain, you can live freely.
