Kelly Stone
Kelly Stone is an athlete and Doctor of Physical Therapy. She was born and raised in Lakewood, Colorado.
Kelly grew up with a passion for athletics as a competitive gymnast and swimmer. She graduated with honors from the University of San Diego (USD) in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Kelly was a 4-year Division 1 swimmer while attending USD, specializing in butterfly and sprint freestyle. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida from 2013-2016. While attending UF, Kelly gained experience working in orthopedics, sports, pediatrics, vestibular, and neurological ICU settings. She also had the unique opportunity to work with athletes post-concussion.
Upon returning to Colorado in 2016, she began working with pediatric populations, with an emphasis on neurological conditions and delayed motor development. She continues to serve this community as a Physical Therapy Supervisor for Solace Pediatric Healthcare. During this time, Kelly Stone also found CrossFit and have been heavily in the sport ever since, competing on Omnia’s CrossFit Games teams in 2017, 2018, and 2023 and competing individually at semifinals in 2021 and 2022. She expanded into orthopedics in 2018 to increase her experience working with active adult and athletic populations. After working for a small private practice, Kelly started her own cash-based practice in 2020, Stone PT, LLC. She is currently certified in Functional Dry Needling and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Through her experiences competing in various sports, she has developed an extensive background in foundational weight training, gymnastics movements, and Olympic weightlifting. Kelly is passionate about injury prevention, movement mechanics, and helping individuals live life pain free.
